Dear Friends,
I don’t know where you are or what you’re doing right now; whether you’re at home with your family waiting this nightmare out, going about your daily life feeling very sure people have lost their minds for no reason, or somewhere on the vast spectrum in between.
Wherever you are, here’s something for all of us to think about.
Yes, viruses are contagious.
So is Fear.
Anxiety.
Panic.
Hysteria.
Sadness.
Anger.
But so is
Laughter,
Kindness,
Calm,
Understanding,
Hope,
Love.
Thankfully, we have a choice in how we meet others.
I would like to encourage everyone to try something with me. Tell me something that is really getting to you about all of this. Anything! Maybe you’re afraid of coronavirus itself. Maybe you’re angry that some people aren’t taking this seriously. Maybe you’re annoyed that people are taking it too seriously. Maybe you’re upset that you can’t buy toilet paper anywhere. Maybe you bought all the toilet paper, but you’re still terrified and anxious. Maybe you’re alone right now, and just need someone to talk to.
Whatever it is that’s in you, let it out!
And in return, you’ll be met with kindness, a calm voice, maybe a joke to make you laugh and take your mind off of things, understanding no matter what stance you take in all of this. Words of encouragement. Let’s meet each other in a dialogue of Love.
We all need that right now.
I’ve created a group on Facebook called Love is Contagious. This is a space for safe, neutral dialogue for anyone who needs a shoulder to lean on right now, or IS a shoulder to lean on.
There are just a couple rules:
1.) Respect is of absolute importance here!
This is meant to be a safe, neutral, respectful place for open discussion around the fears, anxieties and uncertainty during this time. Anyone attacking others for their opinions will be removed immediately, no discussion.
2.) This is not group therapy.
While being a place of support and positivity, this is by NO means a replacement for professional help.
It’s only natural to feel afraid, nervous and unsure right now. We’ve never been in the position of facing a global pandemic before. It’s also natural to get swept up in the negative emotions that are happening within us and around us. For me personally, I always feel like meeting people with kindness is so important in every situation, even when it’s hard. It’s also cathartic. Sometimes being a ray of sunshine for someone else brightens my day as well. I think we all need a little more sunshine right now!
Join me! Let’s spread the Love!
